Dinner at the Grocer with Hawa Hassan

$95.00

We’re back with another Dinner at the Grocer & this one is soulful and celebrating Ramadan!

Join us Tuesday, March 10th for a very special Iftar Dinner at the Grocer with Hawa Hassan, author of In Bibi’s Kitchen and Setting a Place for Us.

We’re combining recipes from both of our books and drawing from across regions for a one-night-only Iftar feast. It’s a cross-cultural table that honors tradition while expanding the flavors we share.

We’ll begin with muhammara, marinated dates, and spicy olive mix served with pita & crudite, then move into dishes we don’t typically serve at the Grocer like arayes with sahawiq — lamb stuffed & seared pita with green Yemeni sauce — and arnabeet mekhli with lemon basil tahini.

For the main table, expect spiced red snapper with chaklaka tomato-pepper relish alongside chickpea eggplant stew finished with pine nuts & parsley, harissa roasted carrots with cumin seeds and pomegranate molasses, and saffron rice with mint. We’ll end with sfouf cake with labneh mousse.

It’s vibrant, layered, and meant to be shared! An Iftar dinner celebrating Ramadan through food & gathering!

There will be two seatings
6:00 PM and 8:30 PM

Dinner brought to you by Mina

📍 Hosted at Edy’s Grocer | 136 Meserole Ave, BK
🎟 Tickets are per person (one ticket = one seat at the table)
🍷 Lebanese beer and wine available à la carte

Seats are very limited. No substitutions. All ticket sales are final.
